The new centre will bring all the township staff together under one roof for the first time, including a York Regional Police (YRP) substation. It aims to provide more than administrative ease to the community, but also aims to become a community hub, with a 6,000 sf multi-use gymnasium/event space available for public use. Sustainability features include a geothermal heating and cooling loop system, and sustainable building materials. Targeting LEED Gold Certification.
HVAC systems consist of a Ground source geothermal system, water to air heat pumps, energy recovery ventilators, domestic hot water system, and miscellaneous fans.
