The Cliff Fielding Research, Innovation and Engineering Building is an inventive addition to the Laurentian University campus, and will allow researchers from all faculties to collaborate and share equipment and expertise. The new three level building contains laboratories for engineering students, student assembly areas, meeting rooms for students and offices for faculty and staff. The second floor also encompasses a Research Centre Hub and the Norinne Perdue Research and Development Centre.
HVAC systems installed include for hot water heating plant, air-cooled chilled water plant, and variable volume air handling units. The building has full DDC control down to and including the individual spaces.
Specialized systems for laboratory research and teaching include for compressed air and air vacuum systems, mass spectrometer exhaust system, RO system and dedicated fume hoods.
