St. Leo Catholic School wasfounded in 1926 when it was the only catholic school in the Mimico Separate School Board. The original building had 8 classrooms and an auditorium which was used for church and community events.
A new 3 storey school is underway at the site to accommodate a bigger school population for the Toronto Catholic District School Board, designed by Kohn Shnier Architects, with ERA Architects as the heritage architect to preserve the heritage aspects of this almost 100 year old building.
